A rainy city. A warm tunnel. A closer second view. The same performance and reveal condition travel through both.
BIKE RIDE / DEDOUZE
Drawn characters. A three-dimensional bicycle. A new source for Afterimage.
TWO ASSISTANT-AUTHORED REVISIONS · READY TO REVIEW
These two assistant-authored revisions explore a proposed direction. The three-second reveal, closer framing and interpretation of “playful” are explicit choices, open to correction.
All 209 source frames · 8.71 seconds at 24 fps · silent preview · 672 × 378. No generated or interpolated frames. Camera, performance and timing come from the source.
POINT TO A MOMENT
SAME SOURCE TIME / TWO REVISIONS
The decision travels. Does the feeling?
01 · Rain into amber. The source camera, a passing screen, and a new city-to-tunnel setting.02 · Closer, under cover. A 45% longer focal length, stable rig tracking and a lower-feeling arcade. Wheel cropping is intentional.
Carried forward
Original source timing and selected-object performance checks pass at all 209 frames in each revision (63 objects; transform, mesh and drawing-point checks). The foreground screen clears the passenger’s projected bounds at source frame 76 (3.0 seconds), and remains clear afterward.
Changed deliberately
Setting, foreground screen, framing and tunnel enclosure. The second version recalculates the screen placement for its new camera. The drawing itself is not regenerated.
Still yours to judge
Whether it feels playful, whether the passenger is discovered at the right moment, and whether the closer view is better. These checks cannot answer those questions.
Camera correction: The first close-up render jolted because its camera followed changing drawing bounds. It now follows a fixed point on the bike rig. The largest adjacent-frame shift of the passenger’s projected bounds falls from 110.3 to 3.6 pixels at this resolution; original animation and the reveal condition still pass. The earlier preservation checks missed this camera fault.
Saved-scene silhouette checks at 11 sampled times show the passenger fully covered before the retreat and fully visible at frame 75 (2.96 s) in both revisions. Its bounding box clears at frame 76 (3.0 s). “Visible by three seconds” is supported; audience recognition at exactly three seconds is not established.
A reproducible native demonstration using conventional scene authoring and projection checks. It is not an independent author trial or evidence of an advantage over a skilled conventional workflow. No model API or credits were used.
WHAT WE HAVE
An editable source. A new question.
The source includes animated Grease Pencil drawings, bicycle geometry, camera and deformation controls. The Original view reproduces its existing camera at reduced resolution. The two revisions add native, camera-facing scenery and an animated foreground screen around the same source performance.
The drawing is built for particular views. Large camera changes need inspection, and may require changes to the artwork itself. The closer second view keeps the established camera orientation. These are baked editable revisions with per-frame checks; this page does not expose a general-purpose native editor or the Settlers camera search.
Source and rendering record
Bike Ride by Dedouze, credited in the source README to Andry Rasoahaingo under CC-BY-SA 3.0, and listed in Blender’s public demo library. Downloaded without an account or subscription. Preserve the source credit and applicable share-alike terms when redistributing adaptations.
Rendered in Blender 3.4.1 at 35% resolution: 16 Eevee samples for the original, 32 for both revisions. The revisions mute the source chromatic lens-distortion effect, removing its colored edge duplication and grain; this cleanup is separate from the retained-decision test. Source character colors and lighting remain; physically integrated relighting is not claimed. Embedded scripts disabled. The original source file was not saved or changed. No audio was exported.
