Every drawing in this book is made of three kinds of stone: floors, left walls and right walls. Laid edge to edge on the drafting paper, they always look like a building. The Surveyor walks what the drawing shows. Some of these buildings stand in the world. Others only exist on paper, and a walk around their courtyard ends a floor higher than it began.
