A chip that validates its own outputs cannot distinguish a substrate that learned from one that only emits. Both self-report valid. Adaptation is not a property a system can read off itself — it is only visible from outside, as advantage over a null twin.
SPACETIMEWARE prices adaptation and lets maps die when they cannot pay their rent. GPT-Chip freezes the weights into the rock and calls it done. But the frozen crystal is its own lobotomy: it adapts to nothing, so it has no advantage — and, worse, no way to see whether it does.
The GPT-Chip elimination grid crosses out Testing & QA — "the chip validates its own outputs". That is the one instrument that could prove its own thesis, and it is the exact circularity SPACETIMEWARE's own manual rejects: a stochastic system judging a stochastic system.
Metrology is not scaffolding. It is the definition of the difference. This is the layer both drawings omit — the meter that watches the crystal re-crystallize, and survives the lobotomy.
One tile and its lobotomized twin — identical weather, one with map-formation, one without. The external meter reads only the difference between them. Every claim is paid inside the frame.
SIM 0.1 — a candidate map, not a proof. The economy is computed; the substrate's learning is illustrative. Replacing it with on-tile inference is the falsifiable increment — and it needs this meter to be checked.
